Join Our Age-Friendly University Global Network Internship/Practicum Program
Are you looking for a dynamic, hands-on internship or practicum experience? The Age-Friendly University (AFU) Global Network offers unpaid, virtual opportunities for students to fulfill course credit or degree requirements while making a meaningful impact in the field of aging and beyond.

Who Can Apply?
We welcome applications from students in aging and gerontology programs, as well as those from diverse academic disciplines. Students from AFU Global Network member institutions are especially encouraged to join.

Customizable Learning Experiences
Our internship/practicum experiences are designed to align with the expectations of your academic institution and your personal career goals. Activities may include:

Communication & Marketing: Designing campaigns, managing social media, creating public-facing material, and maintaining websites.

Grant Development & Fundraising: Supporting funding proposals and resource generation.

Program Evaluation: Developing data collection tools, program handbooks, and evaluation reports.

Evidence-Based Policy: Crafting policy statements and technical assistance materials.

Specialized Focus: Collaborating with one of our Working Groups to address targeted issues.

What Will You Gain?
As part of this unique opportunity, you’ll develop valuable skills and experiences around atcivities such as organizational management, aging research and best pratcices, program evaluation, understaind gthe age-friendly ecosystem, and reporting, and reducing ageism and promoting international collaboration You may also participate in Executive Committee meetings, Regional Meetings, and Age-Friendly Ecosystem Lead discussions. As part of our this pioneering program, you’ll shape the future of the AFU internship program and collaborate with international partners.

Flexible Hours & Expectations
We understand the demands of academic life. Hours are flexible and customizable to your degree requirements. However, we request interns maintain consistent weekly schedules and participate in weekly team meetings to foster collaboration.
